RitmoFit: An Explosive Blend of Sport and Art Created by Two East End Latinas

Vanessa Acero (Alumbra Sport) and Carolina Fuentes (Mila Tina), creators of RitmoFit.

Have you ever imagined exercising your body and getting in tune with various body wellness routines while enjoying live music custom-created to your movements? As sophisticated as it sounds, a duo of talented local Latinas will make it happen this September 4 at 10 a.m. at the iconic Southampton Arts Center, adding an even more special touch to this explosive combination of skills.

The creators of this original idea are Carolina Fuentes, known in the art world as Mila Tina, a Chilean audiovisual producer, drummer, and singer, with an extensive experience in various scenarios, and Vanessa Acero, a Colombian who lives up to her last name (Steele, in Spanish) as an athlete, fitness instructor, wellness trainer, and founder of her own company “Alumbra Sport.” They both decided to unite their passions in the same space and create “Ritmo Fit,” a blend of exercise and live percussion intended to empower women while burning calories and toning their bodies.

“We combined our passions and our love of exercise to create a new experience that is more than just working out or watching a show; it’s both combined into one, ‘ said Vanesa Acero, co-creator of Ritmo Fit. “We want to inspire women to be stronger and more confident, especially Latinas. This is about inspiring in the women of our community the feeling of ‘yes, you can; you can be strong and feel beautiful at the same time.’“

The creators of the Ritmo Fit proudly say that this workout regime comprises sets of exercises that combine elements from Tabata, Dance, Calisthenics, Kundalini Yoga, Boxing, and Air Drumming. Its exclusive music was created to match every one of the exercises.

“The show is inspired by legendary women from the past and mythology who have made a difference in the world. The experience will definitely get you sweating, burning calories, and toning your entire body, with a focus on sculpting the glutes. The whole experience is imbued with rhythm as the foundation for these empowering moves designed to celebrate life,” said Carolina Fuentes, co-creator of Ritmo Fit. “Our mission is for women to leave feeling confident, secure, and empowered.”

The event will be outdoors, among art and nature, and will last three hours. All women who want to live an unforgettable experience and go home strengthened to continue with daily life are invited, say its creators.

There will be guest instructors to guide beginners on working out and to give it an extra for those who are more advanced. Although Ritmo Fit is the first event of its kind to be held in the Hamptons, its organizers don’t rule out the possibility of establishing it as a monthly experience.

The investment for these 3 hours of art and sports is $65. However, for those who reserve their spot now, the cost is $45 (this discount ends tomorrow.) There is also an option to follow the experience virtually for $25. To purchase your tickets, click here.

The event will include local beauty and fitness vendors and healthy snacks. The Southampton Arts Center is located at 25 Jobs Lane in Southampton. To give you an idea of what this event will be like, we leave you with this sneak peek.
